I Fell on my Face – God is on the Move! – Ezekiel Chapter 1

PROPHETIC INSIGHTS FROM THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL FOR THIS SEASON ~ DAY 1

A few years ago, I did a detailed study in the book of Ezekiel. I’m going to be posting the prophetic insights from each chapter over the next little bit. If you want the full teaching, it’s available on my YouTube channel at this link:

✨️ I FELL ON MY FACE – GOD IS ON THE MOVE! – EZEKIEL CHAPTER 1 ✨️

👉🏼 Question: God is ALWAYS moving. Are we moving with him?
INSIGHTS:
1. Look to the North
Turn aside from the distraction. We don’t fix our eyes on what the enemy is doing. We look to what the Lord is doing in the midst of the mess. We reset, recalibrate, and turn our eyes to the north–towards the temple. This means we are intentionally looking to the throne of God.
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 NKJV‬
2. Where do we ‘fit’ in God’s movements on earth?
God’s ALWAYS moving forwards. Where do we fit in the advancement of the kingdom? What is our part to play in this grand tapestry? While not everyone is a 5-fold minister, we are ALL called to incarnate him–to be Jesus in the flesh to a lost and broken world.
We need to use the gifts he’s given us and steward them well. If you have a gift of hospitality, be hospitable. If you have the gift of encouragement, be encouraging. You got the gift of prophecy? Prophesy! The gift of shepherding? Shepherd! The gift of administration? Lead and govern!
Whatever it looks like…use it!
Are we moving forward or do we feel stuck? Are we in a stuck place? If so, we need to turn aside and look to the North. We get our eyes back on him and stay on mission.
3. “I’m watching a Big Wheel”
I’m reminded of this song from a secular Australian band–Icehouse– called ‘Big Wheel’. The lyrics are quite prophetic.
“I’m watching a big wheel
Inside of a big wheel
That’s a part of a big wheel
Turn it round”
The verse of this song begins with:
“Revolution in the city
Revolution in the street
When the circle is in motion
Then the circle is complete”
The wheels within wheels Ezekiel saw in Chapter 1 are difficult to conceptualise. I imagine the many-sized cogs it takes to run an old-fashioned watch. Some are much smaller than others. The small cogs have great significance because if they aren’t turning, the rest of the wheels can’t turn.
We are the smaller cogs within the bigger cogs of the angelic realm working in synergy with us. The big wheel is of course the movement of the Holy Spirit.
As we see these big wheels turning, let’s turn with them. Let’s align with what God is doing.
“The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.”
Ezekiel 1:16 NKJV‬
4. Listen for the sound
There’s a sound being released right now in the realm of the spirit. Do we perceive it? There’s a sound in the earth. What does it sound like? Don’t overthink it. Some of you can hear the heartbeat of the Father. That’s beautiful. If you can hear the heartbeat of the Father, then you can manifest and incarnate the Son here on earth.
5. It’s time to fall on our face
It’s time to get on our faces before the Lord. We prostrate ourselves before the Lord and lay our hearts bare. Nothing hidden. Nothing held back. Naked and unashamed before him. This is us partnering with heaven to see the glory of God manifest in our land, region and nation.
The anointing is great. It rests upon individuals. But the GLORY?! The glory manifests through the corporate gathering of laid-down lovers. It is also so weighty we cannot stand up under it.
“Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.”
Ezekiel 1:28 NKJV‬
