I received this word on the 21 October last year (2019). It is a word of hope for those 55 years and over. I hear the Lord saying, “It’s not over!” This encouragement is relevant for all who will receive it regardless of how old you are, but I really want to speak to those feeling like their season has passed due to their age.
Here are five encouragements from Isaiah 55.
Feed on Him afresh
The Father is calling on you to feed on Him afresh. Take delight anew and step into that place of intimacy with Him.
Ho! Everyone who thirsts,
Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price.
Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Isaiah 55:1-2, NKJV
Let your soul delight in His abundance for you again. The invitation is still open–wide open! Remember His mercies are new every morning. It does not matter if you stumbled yesterday. Repent and press forward in intimacy nonetheless.
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23, NKJV
Feed on Him afresh. He is the Bread of Life–the Bread come down from heaven. We need to feed on Him every day. Ask for your daily bread. He will faithfully give it to you and you will be satisfied. Hallelujah!
Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. Come every day to me and you will never be hungry. Believe in me and you will never be thirsty”.
John 6:35, TPT
God will abundantly pardon
So many of you are living under the shadow of condemnation. He has already made you righteous through the finished work of the cross. Forsake the old way of thinking and step into His mercy and your righteous identity.
Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:7, NKJV
Generally, those in the 55 years and above category have racked up a long ‘laundry list’ of sins. Don’t worry. ALL have sinned (Rom. 3:23). The Lord is wanting you to walk free from condemnation. It is time to shake off the shackles of it. If you are led by the Spirit, condemnation does not belong in your head.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:1, NKJV
There’s fresh seed for you today
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater.
Isaiah 55:10, NKJV
He has fresh seed for you today. It is abundant and plentiful. No matter what you may be walking through at present, He ALWAYS has seed for you to sow. It’s not over! Reach up and receive the seed right now by faith. What does this seed look like to you? I suggest you start with what is already in your hands. Remember the significance of the widow’s mite in Luke 21:1-4? It’s not about how much but the heart that gives. Your seed could be your time, words of encouragement, acts of service for others or a simple financial seed. Ask the Lord what is already in your hands and He will open doors for more seed.
You shall release His word with purpose
He’s putting a word in your mouth right now which has purpose attached to it.
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11, NKJV
Trust what the Lord has given you in this season. Surely what you speak according to His will has power and purpose. Begin to speak and declare the promises of God afresh in your life right now.
This is a season for abundant joy!
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Isaiah 55:13, NKJV
No matter what the circumstances look like at the moment, joy is your portion in Christ. It is where you can draw your strength from in this season. Press into joy right now and sow your tears. They are seeds!
Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.
Psalm 126:5-6, NKJV
There is an abundant harvest of joy coming for those who sow their tears understanding they are precious to the Father (Ps. 56:8). Now is the time to rejoice! The harvest is plenty right now but the labourers are few (Matt. 9:37-38). You are needed right now. Do not be swayed by the upcoming ‘movers and shakers’ in the younger generation. They are building on the foundations you have already laid. You are a forerunner generation and the Lord is not finished with you yet! Hallelujah!
