I Fell on my Face – I Will Make Myself Known – Ezekiel Chapter 35

A few years ago, I did a detailed study in the book of Ezekiel. I’m going to be posting the prophetic insights from each chapter over the next little bit. If you want the full teaching, it’s available on my YouTube channel (link below):
👉🏼 He is zealous for his people. Will we hold fast to him in the midst of the tempest?
1. In the midst of the tempest.
Mt Seir is a key focus of Ezekiel 35. It can have various meanings in the Hebrew. What really stuck out to me is the that it can have a demonic meaning, specifically a tempest or storm.
“I heard the Lord say, “Tell my people that I am with them in the midst of the tempest and the storm.” Even when the enemy tries to capitalise on whatever trouble or trial we’re walking through, the Lord is there in the midst of our own personal Mt Seir. Are you finding yourself in the tempest in this season? He is saying, “I am here. I am Jehovah Shema–the Lord is There. I am right with you. I’m identifying with you.” Whether the storm is of your own making or it’s come because the enemy hates you, the Lord is there in our midst. He’s already made provision for us to come out of it. Whether it be that he stills the storm or he stills US in the midst of it, we can trust in him.
If you’re going through a Mt Seir season at the moment let me know in the comments 👇🏼
For many of us, this Mt Seir season is a time of healing from past hurts, wounds and trauma. We need to walk back through those places with the Holy Spirit, in the love of the father and the power of the name of Jesus. We need to ask the Lord where he was in those times. When we do, we will see that he was there the whole time. Healing comes when we understand he was THERE. He’s always had a plan and a purpose for healing.
2. Catch the thief!
Mt Seir could also mean “thief”. Satan is a demonic thief and an interloper. We need to catch the thief right now and identify him. Where have we been robbed? Where have we been stolen from? These things have not escaped the Lord’s attention.
“Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; He may have to give up all the substance of his house.”
Proverbs 6:31 NKJV‬
When the thief is caught, he must repay 7-fold. He may have to give up all the substance of his house. I’m really feeling an encouragement from the Lord to catch the thief. Where has the enemy been stealing from you? Is he stealing your joy, your peace? Is he stealing finances? Is he causing issues within your relationships? We need to identify the thief so that we can take authority over him. We then press in and receive the sevenfold recompense from the Lord.
3. Recompense and retribution.
Many of us have been through seasons of prolonged accusation, or things that have just not been right. The Lord has seen those of you that have held your peace during this time. You have just been still and you’ve let him seek recompense. Remember, the Bible says, “Vengeance is mine says the Lord,” (Rom.12). We keep our peace. We take it to the Lord and he is the one who brings recompense and retribution where it’s needed. He is causing the thief to repay.
Stay in that place of peace and freedom and let God work out the details.
Will you allow him to be zealous for you?
