I Fell on my Face – I Have Broken Their Yoke – Ezekiel Chapter 34

PROPHETIC INSIGHTS FROM THE BOOK OF EZEKIEL FOR THIS SEASON ~ DAY 34
A few years ago, I did a detailed study in the book of Ezekiel. I’m going to be posting the prophetic insights from each chapter over the next little bit. If you want the full teaching, it’s available on my YouTube channel (link below):

✨️ I FELL ON MY FACE – I HAVE BROKEN THEIR YOKE – EZEKIEL CHAPTER 34 ✨️
👉🏼 If we have been placed in a leadership position (of any kind), will we steward it well?
INSIGHTS:
1. We need good shepherds in our life.
We need good leaders in our life. Otherwise we become scattered sheep. We become leaderless. When we do, we are easy prey for wolves, particularly wolves in sheep’s clothing. Jesus himself warned us of these and they continued to be an issue throughout history.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”
Matthew 7:15 NKJV‬
We need to look at how we interact with leaders around us. This includes employers, government leaders and spiritual leaders such as pastors and shepherds. We need these people in our lives. When we see leaders that are doing the wrong thing, our first port of call is pray for them. We pray that God would form them into good leaders–righteous leaders. We need to pray for righteous leadership in our government, in our workplace, in our schools and obviously in our churches. We need to be in prayer for them. It is less about running our mouths in slander against leaders and more about praying for the right kind of leaders.
For leaders who will not repent, we pray that God removes them and replaces them with good leaders because he’s a good God and he cares about his sheep. He cares about his flock.
2. YHWH is continuing to deal with leadership universally (*Originally prophesied April 20, 2022).
We know 2024 has been a massive year of exposure. Judgement begins in the house of God. This is why we have seen so many leaders suddenly topple. We need to prepare our hearts for further shifting and shaking. In 2022 I prophesied that this would be violent shaking, and this is exactly what we’ve seen play out, especially this year.
3. I have broken your yoke.
I have called this study in Ezekiel 34 “I have broken their yoke”. This is very much a new covenant promise. It is a now thing. The final chapters of Ezekiel are projected into the future. These specific passages in chapter 34 are something we have access to now in Christ.
What is that yoke of bondage holding us back? What is that weight we carry? Whether it be a yoke from poor leadership and spiritual abuse or simply poor decisions that we’ve made, we are being invited to walk in freedom. That yoke is already broken. The anointing breaks the yoke.
“It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”
Isaiah 10:27 NKJV‬
The more accurate interpretation of this verse in the original Hebrew says the yoke is broken because of fatness. It is interpreted in some versions as ‘anointing’, but is better translated as ‘fatness’. Remember the Lord is rebuking the fat and the strong who’ve got fat apart from feeding on him. In this chapter specifically, the shepherds had become fat from exploiting the sheep.
If we feed on him and grow in our authority, the strength he gives–the ‘fatness’–breaks the yoke. It shatters it in pieces. So when he says I have already broken your yoke, will we accept the invitation today to walk in freedom?
Will we steward our leadership positions well?
