I Fell on my Face – Build the Wall – Ezekiel Chapter 13

A few years ago, I did a detailed study in the book of Ezekiel. I’m going to be posting the prophetic insights from each chapter over the next little bit. If you want the full teaching, it’s available on my YouTube channel (link below):
👉🏼 Are we willing to build the wall with materials that last?
1. Let’s not be CASUAL with the prophetic.
Don’t get casual with the prophetic words given to you. Don’t give words casually. It’s great to build prophetic community and encourage believers to prophesy according to 1 Corinthians 14:1. In a rush to ‘activate’ people into their prophetic giftings, we’ve (sometimes inadvertently) made the prophetic too casual. We must always remember if we are prophesying that we are speaking the will of God (the testimony of Jesus) into our circumstances. This should give us pause to speak carefully.
2. Are we “repairers of the breach”?
In Ezekiel 13, the prophet speaks of these holes in the wall that have just been hastily filled in without care. But are we actually repairing the breach?
“Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.”
‭Isaiah 58:12 NKJV‬
We are called right now in this season of darkness and chaos to be Repairers of the Breach with the words that come out of our mouths that speak life, solution and redemption to darkness. Kingdom people should have kingdom solutions.
3. Beware of ANYONE asking you to pay for a prophetic word.
Paying for prophecy is an abomination to God–a stench in his nostrils. This was happening in Ezekiel 13. These ‘false’ prophets were giving words for their own profit and their own gain. The word of God is free. Freely you have received; freely give (Matt.10:8). I’m not talking about paying for people’s time. That’s different. I’m talking about the scammers who slide up into your DMs with a ‘word’ for you and then hit you up for cash. Flee from that! It is wickedness and it is false.
4. How do we deal with the false prophets?
I would say unless you are specifically called to speak out on it, leave it to God. Err on the side of caution and allow God to deal with it. They will eventually expose themselves. God is bringing greater exposure. (Originally prophesied October 10, 2021).
5. Let’s rebuild the walls with materials that last–unity and honour.
The enemy has been poking holes in the Bride’s armour for some time now. We need to rebuild the walls with materials that will last. I believe these are unity and honour. Unity is not uniformity. We don’t need to be the same. We have great diversity in our expressions of worship. This is beautiful and to be treasured. Provided Jesus is Lord, the differences in how we worship should not matter. Praise God we don’t need to agree with everyone’s theology to be in unity. Only Jesus has perfect theology. The rest of us(including myself) have a long way to go. It’s about unifying under the One we have surrendered our lives to. Unity is so much more important than being ‘right’.
Honour is also key. Honour your true spiritual authority and submit to them. It’s not about being right. God is the one who vindicates and elevates. Leave it to God. He is the Judge. We are not.
So rather than hastily patching up the walls in the Body of Christ, let’s be true Repairers of the Breach with materials that last.
