I had hoped to get this word out before the start of November, as I have been hearing this word in my spirit since mid-October. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected trip to hospital. The enemy must not want me to release this word, so guess what? I’m releasing it! I pray you are greatly blessed…
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,
‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name” (Rev. 3:7-8, NKJV).
There is a divine invitation in this hour to step through the open door. This door cannot be closed, not even by yourself. The only thing keeping us from passing through is ourselves…
What does the open door look like to you? Is it a new job or business opportunity? Is it a ministry? Is it serving in a new or different capacity? Is it stepping into your God-given destiny? The door awaits…
There are three key attributes the Body of Christ corporate needs to grasp in order to step through the open door…
First, we need to be bound together in brotherly love. Philadelphia in Greek actually means brotherly love. It is no mistake Jesus made this wonderful promise to the church in Philadelphia. They were prophetically a picture of the church which loves each other unconditionally. Jesus said the world would know we were His disciples by the way we loved one another.
“By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves]” (John 13:35, AMPC).
We must set aside petty squabbles and differences and embrace each other as brothers and sisters. We are family!
Second, we need to be founded in Truth. I have used a proper noun here for a reason. Truth is not a concept. It is not relative. It is a Person–Jesus Christ. If we are not firmly established in the truth of who we are in Christ as new creations, we can become easily ensnared by what media and culture tells us we are.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17, NKJV).
Third, we must “put on” holiness. Holiness is actually a heavenly invitation. It is something we are encouraged a number of times in scripture to “put on”. You can’t “put on” something you haven’t received. As with all of God’s gracious gifts, they are received by faith–not works.
“[A]nd put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth” (Eph. 4: 24, NASB).
Put off the ‘old man’ and put on all the Father has for you. Holiness is actually a key to walking in the power of God. This power is the same power which raised Christ from the dead (Eph. 1:19-20). It dwells within us! The Greek word for ‘power’ here is dunamis which is where we get the English word dynamite. This is real, explosive power!
In Rev. 3:8 the phrase, “for you have a little strength” actually translates better as, “you have a little power”. The Greek word used is dunamai, similar to dunamis. So what is Jesus saying here? He is encouraging us to step through the open door because our strength or power will be increased when we do. It is a step of faith…
Power increases as we use it. Think of it like a muscle. In Eph. 3:20 we are told:
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20, NKJV, emphasis added).
The Greek word for ‘works’ here is energoumenēn. It means “to be active, efficient — do, (be) effectual (fervent), be mighty in, work (effectually in)”. This definitely looks like a doing word to me!
So exercise the power He has placed inside of you by faith. Work the power, work the power, work the power!…
I have laid down some teaching intentionally here to activate the prophetic word with understanding. The Spirit of the Lord is inviting you into 30 days of the open door for the 30 days of November, or from the time you activate into this word. God’s words are always alive!
Pray with me:
Father, we thank You for the invitation to step through the open door. We step through by faith knowing You are calling us to go higher, deeper and further into destiny. We shall pursue our calling with “hostile intent”. We shall not allow ourselves to be intimidated by the lies of the enemy. Father, teach us how to love each other better so we can truly display we are Jesus’ disciples. Give us a greater hunger for Your Word. Lord, Your Word, IS Truth! Help us to shake off the lies of culture and media and step into our true identity in Christ as sons and daughters of the Most High God. Father, by faith, we clothe ourselves in righteousness and holiness. By faith, we choose to activate the miracle-working power You have placed in each of us today. Let our lights so shine before men so we bring glory to You, Father. We receive, by faith, the invitation for 30 days of the open door in the Name of Jesus! Father, we are excited and wait with an earnest expectation of good for the days ahead.
In the matchless Name of Jesus, amen!
