Statement of Faith

The Bible

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God—fully inerrant in its original manuscripts and faithfully preserved across generations. It reveals the heart of God, centres on the person of Jesus Christ, and is the ultimate standard for faith, life, and ministry. Scripture is useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16–17). While translations may differ, the essential revelation of Christ and his redemptive plan remains intact and accessible to all.

God

God

We believe in one eternal, sovereign, and holy God who exists in three distinct yet co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19). This Triune God is perfect in unity—same essence, distinct persons—and is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, seen and unseen. God is love, just in his judgements, faithful in his promises, and worthy of all worship and obedience.

Jesus

Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, co-equal with the Father and the active agent in Creation (John 1:1–3). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3–4). He ascended to heaven and now intercedes for the saints at the right hand of the Father. He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—no one comes to the Father except through him (John 14:6). He will return bodily and in glory to judge the living and the dead.

Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, fully God, and at work in convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement (John 16:8). He indwells every believer at conversion. He empowers the Church for mission, godliness, and witness. We affirm the ongoing operation of the gifts of the Spirit, including prophecy, healing, tongues, and interpretation, governed by Scripture and practised under spiritual maturity and pastoral accountability (1 Cor. 12–14). The Spirit also produces the fruit of Christlikeness in all who yield to his sanctifying work (Gal. 5:22–23).

Salvation

Salvation

We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23), and that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8–9). It is not earned by works but received through repentance and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In salvation, we are justified, adopted, and made new creations. Sanctification is the lifelong process of being conformed to Christ’s image through the Spirit.

Heaven and Hell

The Kingdom and the Last Things

We believe in the coming return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to consummate his eternal kingdom (Rev. 22:12). While views on the timing and nature of his return may vary among believers, we hold fast to the blessed hope of his appearing and the resurrection of the dead (Titus 2:13).

Heaven is the eternal dwelling place of those redeemed in Christ, and hell is the eternal separation from God for those who reject him (Matt. 25:46). Until he returns, we labour in hope, advancing his kingdom—righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17).

The Church

The Church

We believe in the universal Church—the Body of Christ—comprised of all believers across nations and generations. The Church is called to proclaim the Gospel, disciple the nations, and live as a Spirit-filled witness to Christ’s kingdom on earth. We affirm the value of both local expressions and broader unity among denominations.

Naomi Byers Ministries exists to serve the Church by equipping the saints in prophetic and teaching ministry, not to replace or undermine the authority of the local church (Eph. 4:11–13).

We affirm the priesthood of all believers and encourage the biblically grounded ministry of men and women alike in teaching, prophecy, and leadership under appropriate ecclesial structures (Acts 2:17–18).

Salvation

Sacraments

We affirm baptism and communion as sacred ordinances instituted by Christ. Baptism, by immersion, is a public declaration of faith and union with Christ. Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is a shared participation in the body and blood of Christ, reminding us of his sacrifice, uniting believers in love, and anticipating his return. We encourage reverent and Spirit-led participation open to all born-again believers.

The Bible

Final Authority

All matters of doctrine, practice, and spiritual discernment are submitted to the authority of Scripture and interpreted in light of Christ, with humility, theological accountability, and love. We seek to honour the historic faith of the global Church, while walking in Spirit-led obedience for our generation.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.” – 1 John 4:7
