Statement of Faith

The Bible

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible in its translation and inerrant in its original form. Knowledge and understanding of the Bible is critical for teaching, correction and training in righteousness. While translations may vary slightly, the essence of the Word of God (i.e. the revelation of Jesus Christ) has been preserved for every generation.

God

God

We believe God is eternal. He is the Creator of all things seen and unseen. He exists in Triunity as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Triune nature of God is perfect in unity—same substance, differing persona.

Jesus

Jesus

We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He was active in Creation. He became a man, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day. Jesus is co-equal with the Father but humbled Himself to the point of death. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, co-equal with the Father and Son. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and teacher who also convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement. We believe while everyone receives the Holy Spirit at conversion, there is a separate baptism of the Holy Spirit evidenced by charismatic gifts available to all who receive. These charismatic gifts include prophecy and speaking in other tongues. We believe through the power of the Holy Spirit we manifest the kingdom—righteousness, peace and joy.

Salvation

Salvation

We believe all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No one is righteous by their own works. We believe everyone can receive salvation if they repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Heaven and Hell

Heaven and Hell

We believe heaven and hell are literal places. All who place their trust in Jesus are granted eternal life in heaven. We believe Jesus will return one day to judge the living and the dead—some to everlasting life and some to eternal separation from God in hell.

The Church

The Church

We believe the Church is a universal body of believers under the Head of the Church—Jesus Christ. The Church is called to manifest the kingdom and be bound together in love and unity. We believe the Church should make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.” – 1 John 4:7
